Roston's classic century helps West indies to draw the 2nd test against India.

Rain stopped the play on day four with the West indies in big trouble. At the end of day four west indies lost their four wickets on just 48 runs.
As the day five started Roston chase showed great commitment and save the test match of his country.
At one stage India looking to to with the match very easily but Roston century and Jason holder and Blackwood's half centuries turned it down for India and match resulted in draw.

There is a lot to be said of roston. He's languid at the crease. He plays late and close to his body. He wasn't perturbed by a tough situation. And his timing stood out. Two days short of 50 years since it was last done for West Indies and six days after the 80th birthday of the man who did it, Chase achieved the double of a century and a a five-for in the same Test. In the process he helped pull off an improbable draw: batting for survival, West Indies had lost four wickets in 15.5 overs on day four, but on the final day they gave up only two.
Indian coach is very upset about this draw and he said Obviously, we wanted to win this Test match. Yesterday, we were in a very good position and credit to the West Indies batsmen, the way they batted,”.

“Yesterday, time was very crucial for us because we were in great momentum and the conditions were such that it could have been different if we had probably bowled more. There was loss of play, more than 100 overs were lost in this Test match. So all those factors mattered. In the end, credit to the West Indian batsmen in terms of how they batted today and their application as well,” he added.

Cook and Joe root are till on crease and looking solid.Well the beauty of Test Cricket is that new records can be made any time. If we look at number of overs played in the 4th innings of a Test Match since 1990. Then the draw chances for Pakistan looks slightly possible. Technically looking at the weather Pakistan will get around 150 More Overs and if Pakistan survives them then they might draw it.

Situation was uncertain for the women's team and players were overwhelmed by fears as no hotel was willing to give them security: Zaka Ashraf

RAWALPINDI: PCB chief on Friday blamed the women's flop in the World Cup on security fears in host India, claiming the players were "overwhelmed".
Pakistan finished last in the eight-team event after losing all four matches, which were moved to the eastern city of Cuttack when the right-wing nationalist Shiv Sena party threatened to disrupt Pakistan's matches in Mumbai.

The International Cricket Council decided to house Pakistan at the club house of the Barabati stadium instead of a hotel for security reasons.
"The situation was uncertain for the women's team and players were overwhelmed by fears as no hotel was willing to give them security," said Zaka Ashraf, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after talks with Interior Minister Rehman Malik.

Pakistan team manager Ayesha Ashar said at the time that the squad was happy with the arrangements made at the Barabati stadium.

But Malik said he would raise the issue with India.

"Not giving security to our women's team is a concern and I will raise this issue with the Indian government," Malik said.

Election chief dismisses gov’t request for jobs ban removal :

The Law Minister had written to the Chief Election Commissioner for lifting ban on fresh jobs as the ban is affecting performance of the several government departments.

The Election Commission issued a formal directive notifying continuation of the ban on new recruitments and diversion of development funds.

The government will complete its term in mid-March and new elections are scheduled to be held within three months. Some ministers have indicated that the polls could be held in the first week on May.

The Election Commission said that all appointments shall be made strictly in accordance with the rules applicable to such appointments and purely on merit.

The institutions established under the Constitution are exempted from the ban on recruitments, a Commission’s notification said.
